Make room for your own ideas

Give one idea a small experiment, without making it your whole life.

An idea does not have to become a business to be worth exploring. It could make a daily task easier, teach you something or simply be enjoyable to build.

Keep an idea somewhere you can find it

Write the idea in a few lines: what it is, who it might help and why you are curious about it. You do not need a complete plan before keeping the thought.

If you have several ideas, choose one for a small experiment. Put the others on a “later” list so you do not have to decide they are bad or forget them.

Decide what you want to learn

Instead of “I need to launch this,” ask a question:

  • Would this help somebody with a real problem?
  • Can I make a simple version?
  • Do I enjoy working on it?
  • Would I want to do more of it?

The experiment should help you answer one question. It might be a sketch, a conversation or one working screen.

Give it a boundary

Choose a time limit or one session with a clear finish. Decide beforehand what you will leave out.

For a Base44 experiment, you might build a simple enquiry page using fictional content. You would not need payments, memberships or a large dashboard to learn whether the basic flow makes sense.

The planning course gives you a structure for deciding what belongs in a first version.

Keep your own reason in view

You may want a new skill, a creative outlet, more confidence at work or an income option. You can explore that reason without borrowing somebody else’s definition of success.

If earning is part of the goal, choose your monthly income goal rather than treating every idea as something that must replace a salary.

Decide what happens next

After the experiment, keep going, change direction, park it or stop. Write down what you learned. A small finished experiment can be useful even when you do not turn it into a larger project.

If you want company, introduce yourself in the community. Share what you are testing and the part you would like help with. You are allowed to be interested before you are certain.
